Its scope covers the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of alluvial channels, sediment transport, bank erosion, scour and deposition, floodplain geometry, and the geomorphic response of river systems, with treatment of hydraulic parameters such as Manning's resistance to flow, kinematic wave routing, hydrographs, riprap protection, and 100-year flood estimation. Recurring case material draws on watercourses including Sabino Canyon, Cortaro Creek, the Oro Valley and Cochiti. The text is illustrated with diagrams, charts and mathematical equations and engineering projects, and closes with 54 pages of references. It served as a companion reference to the firm's subsequent Design Manual for Engineering Analysis of Fluvial Systems, prepared for the Arizona Department of Water Resources.

Thick Octavo, 9.25" x 6.25" x 2.25" thick. CONDITION REPORT The book is in FINE condition - square spine, firm hinges and joints, colorful, unfaded cloth. Very light rubbing to foot of spine and some dust. Interior is as new - clean and very bright white pages with no writing, stickers, foxing or wear. A beautiful copy. The dust jacket is VERY GOOD - light edge wear - some chips, light creasing and very small tears. Areas of dust soiling (it is an ivory-colored jacket without lamination).
