First Edition
Paperback. Condition: Very Good+ condition. Wilson, Edward A. (cover woodcut) (illustrator). First Edition, Second Issue. New York: Frank Shay, 1921. Very Good+ condition. Softcover. 5" wide by 7.25" tall. Original plain card covers with an integral blue pictorial dust jacket. Contains seven articles that originally appeared in periodicals. According to McFee's bibliographer James T. Babb, the entire printing of this work was 1000 copies. The first issue, consisting of only about 100 copies, was withdrawn from sale due to a poor linoleum reproduction of the woodblock. The remaining copies were bound up the same as this one. [Note: In 1924 about 500 of them were reissued with a "Third Edition" note tipped-in at the foot of the title page]. This is a copy of the second issue with the misspelled "Autgors" for "Authors" on the Contents page. The error does not in any sense constitute a point of issue. However it does mean that this copy is unmutilated, and complete with the original Contents page. Babb states: "most copies of both issues are mutilated, either lacking the leaf or having a cancel with the error corrected." Babb XVIII (p. 37). First Edition, Second Issue. Softcover. Very Good+ condition. Illus. by Wilson, Edward A. (cover woodcut). 48pp.
