Hardcover. Condition: Good-VG. No Jacket. 1st reprint (July, 1st issued May). xxv+114+(pub.list of war-related titles); sm.sig. 'A.S.Needham' top fr.endpaper, heavy browning to half-title and verso final leaf of list, speckled browning to part of rear endpaper, otherwise internally clean, tight & unmarked with good end-gutters. Grey cloth covers clean, sp. & top back edge sl.darkened, sl.sp.end rubbing. Despite minor faults a very acceptable copy. Apparently scarce.

Condition: Good-. 1st ed. 322 pp., 84 text figs; ex-Wellcome Library with barcode strip fr.pastedown, stamps verso t.p. & end text, but numerous faults: sm.sig.top t.p., water stain bottom last leaf and lower rear endpaper & pastedown, fr. gutter opening, ticks to initial series list, and one late page has a few lines underlined in ink, covers clean bar faint cup-ring to fr. but lower back has pigment loss (presumably water damage) and a little cloth wrinkling, sp.darkened and ends a little rubbed. Cannot claim this list is exhaustive but covers most of it. Clearly then a working copy only. Of some interest to historians of evolutionary thought both for its equation of biological and social evolution and use of the notion of 'degenerative evolution'. The authors were all academics based in Brussels. Issued as No.88 in the International Scientific Series. Size: 13.5 Cm x 19 Cm.
