The contents are otherwise clean and the binding is tight. ; The book is divided into four parts, "Spurious Poltergeists and Perhaps Some Others", "Some Genuine Poltergeists", : "Powers and Limitations of the Poltergeist", and "Interpretation." ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 436 pages; Owen, most known for his "Philip" experiment in which he and his wife Iris, in 1972 invented a fictitious character named Owen, gave him an elaborate history as a seventeenth century aristocrat and tried to communicate with him through psychokinesis. "Poltegeists" was a result of his interest in psychic research while he was a research fellow at Trinity College at Cambridge. His research included interviews of witnesses of a poltergeist case in Sauchie. In 1964, the book received the Parapsychology Foundation's Best Book Of The Year award.…
