He began his animation career in 1936 at Walt Disney Studios, contributing to Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Dumbo. In 1941 Kelly transferred at the age of 28 to work at Dell Comics, where he created Pogo, which eventually became his platform for political and philosophical commentary." (from Wikipedia).

Magazine. 6p., 8.5x11 inches, profusely illustrated with b&w photos of the Sirlebrity Capades 1965, On the Town drag photos, Halloween 1965 very good newsletter extra edition, folded sheets. Special edition of the newsletter reporting on the Sirlebrity Capades 1965 drag performance and other drag appearances around town. The division between homophile rights activism in this period and the later, more radical turn is highlighted by the slogan on the masthead of this issue: "Responsible action by responsible people in responsible ways." S.I.R. was an extremely important homophile organization in the 1960s-70s and "Vector" was the main gay magazine for the Bay Area during those years. The magazine began life as a newsletter in 1964, merely several folded and or stapled sheets with news and calendars. The late Sixties found the magazine concentrating more on local and national news of interest to gay men. The final years saw the magazine turn more to a standard gay men's magazine with photos of young men from around the Bay Area.

Add to basketHardcover. Condition: VG- for age. 1st Edition. Hard thick yellow card lettered boards with thin brown unlettered cloth spine, only wear is very thin chip across top spine but number of lighter discoloured patches to back, apparently due to water splashes, tanning to front edges and much of back. t.p. + 125 pp., small penciled ticks and odd word comment etc beside a number entries, erasable but may be of some interest, short name in red top front end-paper, faint hints of edge-browning. Arranged chronologically with 7 sections, starting with No. 2 (with only 3 entries), the majority of the entries (from end p. 11) are sections 6-8 with 3 asterisked Section 7 entries at very end. the rationale for all this I have not figured out and there is no explanation, pp.117 to end are author index. Apparently uncommon.
