Ansprechend gestaltete und reich bebilderte Firmenfestschrift der amerikanischen Bettenfabrik Simmons. Begonnen hatte alles 1871 mit zwei Pferdestärken und 9 Beschäftigen; 1907 verfügte die Fabrik über 4000 PS Maschinenstärke und 2500 Mitarbeiter, davon allein 450 in der Gießerei (Kapazität: 3600 Betten täglich). 800 hochpreisige Betten wurden täglich von Hand gestrichen, doch verfügte das Werk auch über 18 Tauchtanks. Simmons stieg in zehn Jahren zum weltgrößten Produzenten von Bettgestellen aus Messing auf, stellte aber auch Eisenbetten, Hospitalbetten, Matrazen und Klappstühle in einem Preisrahmen von 13 bis 500 US-Dollar her.
