She wrote both children's and adult works of fiction.Her work as a children's writer focuses on her Evangelical religious beliefs. Most of her stories are allegories with clear moral messages. Her stories included elements of realism and naturalism which softens the moral messages. Many of her works first appeared in magazine form.The text is accompanied by a selection of charming vignettes a colour frontispiece and a half title. In the original publisher's cloth. Externally generally smart. A small crack in the front joint. Rubbing resulting in minor loss to the joints and tail of the spine. A small mark on the rear board. Internally firmly bound.
