Paperback. Condition: Very Good. In this handbook Roger Upton explores the "art" of falconry and advocates high standards in all aspects of hawk management, including performance in the field. There is advice on such falconers' practices as constructing hawk houses, furniture care, and making gloves and hoods (patterns are included for reference). In addition, there is information on techniques involved in hawking out of the hood and in game hawking, together with suggestions on hawking and transporting hawks. There are also helpful tips on selecting flying country and choosing hawking dogs to suit the faconer's needs. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.
