Softcover. Condition: Very Good. Wrappers. Sewn binding. 24p. Some toning and edgewear else very good, lacking the wrappers. A romance style short story entitled "Fanny Manvers" handwritten by an unknown, but most likely female, author around 1850. The story revolves around a young woman, Fanny, and follows her social and personal development from a young woman into a prospective bride, with episodes of bawdy fantasies and lore. After being denied permission to marry a man due to a family feud she is captured by another man who wishes to marry her against her will. In the final chapter Fanny and the man collapse at the nearest hotel only to hurry back home, at once donning their "wedding garb," and marrying "for fear of other obstacles" that may have occurred during their hotel encounter. A unique piece of fiction recounting a young woman's fantasies.
