First Edition. A portrayal of the 'Modern Woman', extraordinarily complex and loved by the opposite sex. Maxwell originally wanted to be an artist and when that career did not develop he spent a number of years without occupation. During the First World War he served as a captain in the Royal Fusileirs. He has five film credits to his name, including The Devil's Garden, which starred Lionel Barrymore. Near Fine in Very Good plus jacket with two small chips at top spine edges, and some mild overall darkening to white panels.
