Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. On the whole a nice, presentable copy which is bound in bright cloth boards with crisp title lettering to the spine. There is the odd spot on the spine cloth, but nothing at all severe. Minor knocking to the corner tips. No inscriptions and the pages… are nice and clean throughout the book. Newspaper clipping of a book review relating to this book is stuck on the ffep. The dust jacket is not price clipped, although somewhat edge worn, chipped and has a sun faded spine. In all a nice, collectable condition copy.

'Mr Gilbert defines the amateur as 'one who practises an art or skill for the love of it, not by compulsion or to earn reward. An amateur is not necessarily incompetent.' That is the theme of this short book about violin-playing: fiddling for fun, but not in any slap…dash sense.'. Dust jacket worn.
