Soft cover. Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. Sixth printing. Inscribed on the title page: "For you Linda, Terry Tempest Williams, Voice, 20 Oct 15." Scarce signed--for whatever reason it seems TTW's scarcest signature among her trade books. "A lyrical meditation on the mystery of her mother's journals," which her mother gave to her… with admonition that she must not open them until after her passing. When Tempest Williams did open them, she discovered they were all blank. The book takes the form of 54 short chapters that dwell on the question, "What does it mean to have a voice?" A fine and lovely softcover with french flaps (beautifully designed) with a price sticker from the Peregrine Book Co. over the barcode on the rear wrap.

A deluxe limited large Japanese paper edition, signed by the Publisher, and numbered 36/100. Very much a deluxe edition, in every way. The Glasgow School of Painters, by G. Ba…ldwin Brown, Watson Gordon Professor of Fine Art In The University of Edinburgh. With Fifty-four Reproductions in Photogravure by J. Craig Annan. Published by James Maclehose and Sons, Publishers to the University, and T. and R. Annan & Sons, Glasgow, 1908. Printed at the University Press by Robert Maclehose & Co. A hardback with vellum spine and corners, with raised bands and gilt title to spine. With blue cloth over boards with gilt title to front. Some markings, wear and scuffs to the blue cloth and some minor marks to the vellum, but still a most handsome volume. The rough cut text block edges have some darkening at extremities, but the text presents very nicely overall with the Plates being of lovely quality. One of the printed guards with a marginal toned mark to lower edge. Occasional loose sheet (not surprising due to the huge size of this book). This limited edition is very scarce and seldom seen in commerce. A desirable volume. Text in English. viii + 51pp + LIV Plates, preceded with printed guard sheet (on the same Japanese paper), and illustrated Biographical Notice of the artist. Weight approximately 7.35kg (unpacked). Dimensions: Book; Approximately 489mm high x 391mm wide x 62mm deep (approx. 19" x 15.5" x 2.5"). Near 'Elephant Folio' size. Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Hardcover, 522 pages. Reprint of the 1822 publication, with the longer title, "principles and acts of the revoution in America; or an attempt to collect and preserve some of the speeches, orations & proceedings with sketches and remarks, and other fugitive or neglected pieces, belongin…g to the revolutionary period in the United States; which happily, terminated in the establishment of their liberties" Bound in dark green cloth. Good condition, with normal fading to pages and boards from age. An inscription on the front endpaper, "Rear Admiral Thornton A. Jenkins, U.S. Navy, with the regards of Sam'l [N?] Niles. Washington. Oct 2, 1876." and below that, in a different hand, "To my nephew Thornton Marshand Xmas 1880, Thornton A Jenkins." Jenkins was a Navy Officer who served in the Mexican-American War and the Civil War. He was the Chief of the Bureau of Navigation and was the President of the United States Naval Institute. He performed secret services for President Lincoln in the early part of the Civil War. His biography at wikipedia has much more. I don't know who the Niles is who has inscribed the book to the Admiral whether a son, widow, or other descendant of the author. An interesting association copy, belonging to a distinguished Civil War veteran. Signed by Author(s).

Contact seller4-star sellerCondition: Fine in fine slipcase. 2009 Long Beach, 1st edn, 333pp, color and b&w photos, ltd to 1000 signed, numbered, & slipcased copies. The author went on his first African trip in 1953 when he hunted in Tanganyika with PH Clary Palmer-Wilson. Bazzy was a lucky man and a good hunter, and on that trip he shot a lesser kudu tha…t still ranks today in the top five in the record book. Once he acquired a taste of Africa, he obviously wanted to get back, for, let's face it, who does not? In fact, he loved Africa so much he decided to make a living off the hunting industry. To that end, he started taking clients to Africa, and, at the same time he became an apprentice PH. He took numerous trips to East Africa in those early days, bagging most of the big five, before trying out the hunting fields of the Sudan. His first safari to the Sudan in 1961 started a love affair with that country that was to last most of his life. He went back to the Sudan multiple times, seeing the country in all its savage beauty. There he met the greats of the hunting industry including Tony Sanchez, Angelo Dacey, and Franz Coupe. It can be fairly said that there are few people who have had more experience in the Sudan than Chuck Bazzy.
