Spine ends are faded else bright with slight staining down front edge of front and rear boards. Some foxing internally. No inscriptions. Binding tight. Dust jacket is chipped along edges and at corners and spine ends with small absences at corners and spine ends. It has been covered to protect it. Nice copy.

Historical novel by the author best known for her mystery series the Cadfael Chronicles, published under the pseudonym Ellis Peters.

The dustjacket has a 1" piece missing from the top of the spine which affects the titling (the top of the "B" in "By") and a couple of "ghosts of old scotch tape repair. There are no marks of any kind in the book; the dustjacket has not been price-clipped and is now protected in a new mylar cover. Very Good binding / Good dust jacket.

(V1)/324pp with 15 Chapters. Bookplate to fixed front endpaper (P.R. Hiscock), small inscription to foot of fixed front endpaper: as follows, "Telford: 2 May 1992". Spine slightly faded. Minor chip to top/tail of wrapper spine and to return flap corners. Small area of wrapper front panel missing: size of chip is 2cm x 1cm. General condition VG.

VG book showing some fading and foxing to the edges, few spots internally but generally NF or better interior. VG clipped DJ a few chips and closed tears, but better than normally seen.
