HARDCOVER. Macmillan, 1983. Reprint. A fine copy in a near fine d/w with a small amount of rubbing to the head of the spine. This is a really special association copy. It comes from the library of Sir William Heseltine, the former Principal Private Secretary to Queen Elizabeth 11, and bears his bookplate to the front free endpaper. In addition, this copy has been dedicated, dated and SIGNED by the author to Queen Elizabeth. The inscription is to the half title page and reads: "To Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11 in appreciation of the Royal Review of the Australian Bicentennial First Fleet in Portsmouth Harbour, which begins it's re-enactment voyage to Australia following the Royal flag signal on 13 May 1987". Rarely do books that have been in the Queens possesion ever come on the market. Scans available if required.
