Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Includes Dust Jacket. Goffstein, M. B. (illustrator). First Printing Stated. A first printing (stated) of this rather elusive Caldecott Honor winner. Inscribed and signed opposite the title page in Goffstein's impeccable, precise printing. Book is in beautiful condition, clean, tight, sharp corners, no writing apart from Goffstein's. In a clean, attractive jacket with rubbing to the folds. There is a medal sticker present, and the jacket is price-clipped, but it is definitely a first issue jacket, with no mention of the award on the flap. I have a second printing book in jacket which does not have a medal sticker but clearly states on the flap "Caldecott Honor Book 1977." Beautiful signed copy. Signed by Author/Illustrator.
