Softcover. Condition: Near Fine. Newsletters. Octavos and quartos. 4pp. to 16pp. Stapled wrappers and folio sheets folded to make four pages. Overall about fine with creases to the quarto issues from mailing and one issue toned and chipped at the final sheet. Five issues of *Poor Richard's Reports* published by the short-lived Society of Separationists, a group consisting of Madalyn Murray O'Hair, founder of the American Atheists, and her husband Richard, following their brake from the Freethought Society and relocation to Austin, Texas in 1966. The issues here include the first issue dated January 1967 (Vol. 1, No. 1), as well as April 1967 (Vol. 1, No. 4), and February, March, and April 1968 (Vol. 2. Nos. 2-4). *Poor Richard's Reports* was a direct precursor to *American Atheist* magazine which continues to be published today. This newsletter featured editorials, short articles, reprints of pro-secular articles from American and around the world, and some issues with Society press releases and forms laid in. It also agitated for political action and an annual gathering of like-minded Americans, which lead directly to the first American Atheist convention held at the O'Hair's home in 1970. While most issue of *Poor Richard's Reports* are uncommon. Only one issue from this group (April 1968) is found in *OCLC*. Rare.
