Huffaker was an interesting person, born in the West, author of western fiction, screenwriter, and television writer. Curiously, he was education at Princeton and Columbia Universities, and attended The Sorbonne in Paris. This novel was his fifth book. It was adapted for film and produced under the title 'Flaming Star' in 1960. The movie starred Elvis Presley and Barabara Eden, and was generally well received. This is a very good copy. The text block has a little toning. The jacket has a tear at the base of the front panel, and a small piece missing at the base of the rear panel, both near the spine. There is also moderate edge wear. It is now protected with a Brodart cover.
