Hardback. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Well-illustrated (illustrator). First Edition. 1971. First edition in English. 112pp., 94 black and white and colour illustrations, and 4 folding tapestry plans in a pocket at the end of the book. Flemish or Flamsk weaving was introduced into Sweden in the 16th century. From then on the craft spread throughout Scandinavia and when the weaving industry in general went into decline the craft survived in Sweden as a cottage industry or pastime. This book while based on the traditional designs and patterns explores the possibilities of modern designs. It explains the techniques in detail and outlines the materials necessary. Examples are shown both of old and new tapestries and an explanation of the wools and colours together with a chapter on dyes and dyeing is included. The book is bound in the original white boards with black titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition and the contents are tight and clean. The front free endpaper has been neatly removed. The unclipped dustwrapper has some shelf wear with a small piece missing from the bottom front corner. The spine ends are lightly bumped with chipping and some nicks at the top of the spine.
