Amelia Earhart's narrative of events as they unfolded on her last pioneering aviation expedition -- a a mid 1937 circuit of the world by airplane. However, she and her craft disappeared on a late, long leg of the venture -- a flight over the Pacific. Earhart's husband (and promoter) George Putnam compiled the materials for the book. 229 pages, cloth, illustrated. Third Printing, November 1937. The dust jacket has a 1.5" by 2" chip at the top of the spine and fading on the spine. The book has a previous owner bookplate on the front endpaper.

Shows several moving notations of interest by a former owner, an Air Force veteran of WWII, detailing the circumstances of the deaths of several of his friends and compatriots (as pictured). VERY GOOD. Shows some shelf rubbing along the extremities, preliminaries with just hints of foxing, former owner gift presentation bookplate at the backmost endpaper, otherwise the binding is strong and tight, the text and photographs are clean and unmarked, and the boards remain bright and distinct. As pictured.
