Original Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Rowland, K.F. (illustrator). First Edition. First UK edition. Originally published in the US by Doubleday in 1954. The boards have a half inch patch of fading at the top of the spine, a one and a half inch patch at the bottom with another tiny spot of fading near the centre and some fading at the top and bottom of the rear panel. Page edges browned. Browning and a little spotting to the endpapers. Browning to the pages which are otherwise unmarked. The jacket has one inch pieces missing at the top and bottom of the spine where there is also a closed tear. There is also a small hole at the centre of the spine. The front panel has a two inch piece missing at the top right and a smaller piece missing at the top left with some creasing between these and there is a small patch of label residue. Browning to the rear panel with a three inch closed tear to the bottom left corner. Jacket design by K.F. Rowland. First printing.
