Soft cover. Condition: As New. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. Signed. 44 pages. Published in 2008. Retrospective collection of portrait-photographs in color. Martine Fougeron's finest achievement. Limited Edition of 1500 numbered and signed copies. Published as a softcover original only. The Limited Edition is now scarce. A brilliant production by Martine Fougeron and Maria Mayer: Oversize-volume format. Pictorial softcovers with photographic reproduction and titles on the cover and spine, as issued. Photographs by Martine Fougeron. Essay by Lyle Rexer. Printed on pristine-white, thick coated stock paper in Hong Kong to the highest standards. The reproduction quality is exemplary in every respect. Without DJ, as issued. Published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name held at Peter Hay Alpert Fine Art Gallery New York from February 28 through April 12, 2008. Presents Martine Fougeron's "Tete-a-tete: Intimate Portraits of Adolescent Sons 2005-2007". A gem: Her necessary antidote to teenage angst and lust. Fougeron explores, from her maternal perspective, the bond and evolving dynamic between brothers, close in age and even closer in affection: Sons Adrien (the one with very long, then buzz-cut, then regular-length hair) and Nicolas. Their friends, Alexis, Stanislas, and Theo, are also shown for similarity. It's a doting mother's unyieldingly innocent world-view of adolescence, not Larry Clark's, purposely, admirably so. The intimacy we are shown is chaste and warm, a brotherly bond without any disturbance or toxicity whatsoever. The photograph of the "First Kiss" of Nicolas isn't one at all. "A mother's gift of love" (Lyle Rexer). An absolute "must-have" title for Martine Fougeron collectors. This is a copy of the Limited Edition of 1500 numbered and signed copies, indicated/numbered as such on the Back Limitation Page. It is very boldly and beautifully signed in red pen-marker on the title page by Martine Fougeron. It is signed directly on the page itself, not on a tipped-in page. This title is a contemporary art photography classic. This is one of few copies of the Limited Edition still available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. A scarce signed copy thus. 19 color plates. One of the most brilliant photographers of our time. A fine copy. ISBN 0981496407. Signed by Author.
