Close examination of DJ reveals light edgewear including possible bumps, rubbing, and/or tiny closed tears, some small chipping at spine ends, a little soiling. His theoretical work Art was first published in French in 1928, and then translated in English as Foundations of Modern Art in 1931. In it, Ozenfant argued that great art transcends specific eras. He sought to isolate the underlying constants that connect all significant human endeavors across the centuries.
