McLoughlin edition of this vibrantly illustrated nursery rhyme set to music, featuring humanized frogs, rats, and cats, part of their Aunt Louisa's Big Picture Series. This nursery rhyme about a frog seeking a wife was first recorded in the 16th century, and has been interpreted in various creative ways over the centuries. This McLoughlin version adds colorful chromolithographs and musical notation, making it quite a sight to behold. 10.5'' x 9''. Original color pictorial wrappers, respined with tape. Illustrated in color. (CW: Ten Little rhyme mentioned on rear wrapper.) [10] leaves, printed one side only. Wrapper with a bit of soil, a few mended closed tears. Leaves with a few tiny closed tears carefully strengthened with tape. Colors bright.

Paperback. Condition: Fair. Later Printing. Unpaginated. Undated [1870's] Paperback song book with illustrated cover with twelve one-sided pages with color illustrations by Charles Bennet. The spine is cracked and previous repaires have happened with tape and sewing. Book has slight bumping and the lower corners of the front cover are chipped away, last four pages have chipped upper fore-corners. Interior is slightly yellowed and shows minimal foxing. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall JC.
