This offering is a hard cover copy of A Frog He Would a Wooing Go written illustrated by H. L. Stephens. The book was published by Walker and Company in 1967 and is a stated First Printing. The entire Foreword is about the black-and-white illustrations drawn by Henry Louis Stephens and no mention is given as to the author of the poem/story. It is 7 1/2" by 10" and has 15 pages with the story and a black-and-white illustration on each page. It is NOT an ex-library copy and while the book is in very good condition there is NO dust jacket though it is protected by a plastic sleeve-like jacket. Thank you!!

Softcovers. Condition: Very Good. William Stobbs (illustrator). First Edition Thus. 1972. First 'Picture Puffin' edition (the book was originally published by The Bodley Head in 1969). Unpaginated but 34pp., including the inside of the covers, and large colour illustrations throughout. William Stobbs (1914-2000) was a British author and illustrator, and won the 1959 Kate Greenaway Medal. In this rhyming story for the young reader, Mr From set out one day to woo Mistress Mouse, and on his way he met Mister Rat and asked him to go along too. They had a lovely time with Mistress Mouse until the cat and her kittens arrived. The book is staple-bound in the original illustrated card covers. It is in very good condition with some shelf wear to the covers and rubbing down the spine. The contents are secure and clean with no inscription.

Light soilage in margins of leaves, but overall this is a good or better copy of a rare and special early children's book.
