First edition. First edition. Signed by the author.Two-tone cloth and boards, xii [2], 295 pp., introduction, acknowledgments, illustrated, selected bibliography, filmography, index. The private life of Gary Cooper who starred in THE VIRGINIAN, HIGH NOON, THE WESTERNER, NORTHWEST MOUNTED POLICE, THE COWBOY AND THE LADY, and other Western movies. He twice won the Academy Award's OSCAR and developed a public image as the strong, silent, Abe Lincoln type, a man who could speak his mind when he wanted to, use his fists when he had to, and still be a gentleman with the ladies. However his private life was far removed from his public image, with numerous scandals, usually involving women. Mystery writer Stuart Kaminsky, who brought us the Toby Peters series of mystery novels provides us with a detailed perspective of a popular screen hero. Fine in dust jacket and an elusive title.
