First Edition
Stapled wraps. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. This is a trade sized booklet with cardstock covers and a stapled spine. The booklet is in Very Good condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The booklet covers have some light generalized toning. There is some beginning bumping and rubbing to the spine ends and corners of the book covers. The text pages are clean and bright, but there is some light generalized toning as well. The contents include: A Critical Definition of Peace Research, Needs and Opportunities in Peace Research and Peace Education, New Directions in Social Science, The Need for a Study on the Psychology of Disarmament, Peace Research U. S. A." , and more. The magazine's original title was Our Generation Against Nuclear War, and its inaugural issue, in 1961, included an introduction by Bertrand Russell, and a mission statement: "devoted to the research, theory, and review of the problems of world peace and directed toward presenting alternative solutions to human conflict". The founders were members of the Montreal branch of the Combined Universities' Campaign of Nuclear Disarmament, established by McGill University students during the late 1950s. By the late 1960s the journal was turning towards anarchist solutions, and by the early 1970s it had become a journal of anarchism and libertarian socialism." (from Wikipedia).
