Historically, the name "Gilman High School" was used for a school on Mount Desert Island, Maine, before it was consolidated and became MDIHS, named in honor of Daniel Coit Gilman. Mt. Desert High School in Northeast Harbor was built to replace the aging Gilman High School, and to house all students from grades 7 through 12. In 1968, Mt. Desert Island constructed a regional school for all the Island's high school students. Very scarce copy. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall.
