Cloth. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. Third Impression. Pp. 292. Light stains to front cover and a nick at the top edge of rear cover. The d.j. is frayed, worn, torn (with some loss) and the front and rear covers have been separated. Most of the loss is at the d.j. spine area. The flaps are also separate and there's tape marks along the inner edges of the d.j. This is the 3rd impression of the first English edition. However this book has some interesting aspects: 1. It is SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR. 2. Loosely inserted is a single sheet titled "J.P. Donleavy Celebration DInner Wednesday 8th February". On the verso is the dinner menu and the venue which was the Merrion Hotel Dublin. This dinner was held on the occasion of Donleavy's art exhibition in Dublin in 2006. 3. This particular book also attended that dinner & I had seen the book beforehand and it didn't have the nick to the upper rear cover. It is my belief that this was done with a knife at the same dinner as the select members of the guest list feted the night away. 4. Accompanying the book is the art exhibition catalogue & loosely inserted in this is the invitation to the exhibition which has a picture of Donleavy on front and the price list for the pictures. Signed and Inscribed by the Au.
