Copyright page would make you think this was printed in 1964 as this is the last date noted. The original DJ however makes mention of Where the Sidewalk Ends, published in 1974 despite the DJ still having its 1064 code (October 1964) on front flap; as seen on first printing DJs. As for the book itself it is a beauty. The DJ has done its job well as panels are bright and clean with barely pushed tips. Endpapers are clean with minimal toning in gutter. No writing within. Original DJ not as nice as book but still attractive. Colors are bright. DJ shows rubbing and chipping. DJ verso shows a small piece of tape reinforcing a closed tear. Book is near fine in a Good only DJ. An early printing of the children's classic in its uncommon original colorful DJ with a rare photo of Silverstein still with hair. Also laid-in is a Shel Silverstein USPS First Day Cover with an official First Day of Issue postmark; as well as a Shel Silverstein USPS Digital Color Postmark First Day Cover.
