A presentable copy of this children's book illustrated by Walt Kelly, the creator of *Pogo.*.

Second printing before publication. 63pp. Octavo [21 cm] Red cloth over boards with a black ink stamped title on the spine, and a black ink stamped vignette on the front cover. Light and dark brown pictorial endpapers. Very good plus, with light rubbing at the spine ends and corners of the covers. In a very attractive dust jacket, in very good condition. The jacket's spine is barely perceptibly faded, the edges are a little chipped, and there is a 1" closed tear along the bottom edge. There are thin stains along the edges (more visible on the verso). Pictures by Walt Kelly, whose career in animation began in 1936 at Walt Disney Studios, where he contributed to Pinocchio and Fantasia. In 1941, Kelly resigned at the age of 28 to work at Dell Comics, where he created his famous comic strip, Pogo.
