Condition: Fair. Third Edition. 287 pages. No dust jacket. Brown cloth boards with lettering. Clean pages with noticeable tanning and foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Pencil markings to front pastedown. Minor cracking to gutters, with exposed netting. Binding is slightly loose. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Minor splits to spine ends and corners causing cloth to be frayed. Lettering is clear. Visible wear marks to boards.

A very good copy with a small name to the front end page, a scattering of spotting to the early pages. Radio monologues and narratives, about half of them supernatural. Scarce as a first printing.

Undated reprint, c.1929. Turquoise cloth with maroon lettering. Owner's name on free end papers; end papers yellowed; back hinge cracked & repaired. A little light foxing; spine badly browned, with wear at head & foot, & repaired split in back joint. Some loss of colour to cloth on boards. Not pretty, but still readable Used - Acceptable. Fair hardback (no dust jacket).

Front cover fo DW portrays a man's head (Presumably the author) sloking a cigar. Very clean tight book BUT has very heavy edge spotting. Inscription of owner at front of book. Clean bright dw has edge wear with some loss not really affecting lettering. Photo on request.

The pictorial 3/6 dust jacket is worn along the top and bottom edges, has several internal paper mends at edges, and there is a small scuff to the spine panel with loss of surface. A couple of pertinent contemporary clippings about the book and its author are laid in. The first printing of this book is uncommon and it is rarely found in jacket. (#169925).
