A compilation of recipes by members of the Womans Missionary Society of the Lincoln Avenue United Presbyterian Church in East Liberty, Pennsylvania. Published in 1917, it contains dozens of tried and tested recipes from the members themselves, shared with each other and the community to promote their mission and activities. Some of the recipes are signed, some are not, but all share the same goal of providing housewives with cost-efficient, labor saving, and nutritious meals. Divided into chapters: Soups, Fish, Meats, Bread, Salads, Vegetables, Puddings, Pies, Cakes, Ices and Drinks, Jellies and Marmalades, Pickles and Relishes, and Candies. The Womans Missionary Society of the Lincoln Avenue United Presbyterian Church appears to have been founded in the 1910s and operated into at least the 1930s. Good.
