Spine panel cloth somewhat sunned, light surface rubbing to back cover. Text block edges typically dulled by age. Firm binding. Some tanning/spotting to rear endpapers from vintage news clipping. Inscribed by author on front flyleaf "To Gerrie J. Johnson / with sincere regards," full signature, undated. Sinclair was of course best-known for his novel "The Jungle," and during the 1920s-30s, he wrote various self-published works of socialism prior to becoming the Democratic candidate for governor of California in 1934 with his EPIC (End Poverty In California) campaign. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Inscribed by Author(s). Book.

Harry Hansen was an American journalist, editor, literary critic and historian, as well as a personal friend of Sinclair.
