Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Book Club Edition. Book club edition first printing. Hardback book is tight and very square. Boards clean, with bumped foreedge corners, title gilt perfect. Text block foreedge and bottom edge are have a touch of toning pretty much off white with some moderate spotting. Top edge toned with further spotting. The pages are unmarked. Feels well and firmly bound, lightly read. Bumped to head and foot of spine, very good condition. Jacket generally has edge wear and some light creasing. The front panel has couple of creases, and handling marks. The spine has the barest hint of sunning that does not affect the title colours, and has delaminated to the top 2mm. The rear panel has rubbing with small loss and delamination to the top foredge corner, and bubbling to the laminate at the top edge near the joint. However overall the colours are still bold, and there are no tears. Jacket grades very good. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a worthy addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. Please note : this book is very heavy (1450g) overseas purchasers may be charged additional shipping. Please contact bookseller for exact price. A solid example of this book club title, which is in the same large format as the Gollancz publication of the same year. Whilst this is not the best copy of this sought after title we have handled, it does look very reasonable on the shelf in the fitted archival cover, and would make a good addition to a collection.

The book is offered in the same sewn binding with the head/tale bands for the publisher's book club member in red cloth with gilt lettering. Dune: Set on the desert planet called Arrakis, the focus of an intricate power struggle in a byzantine interstellar empire. Arrakis is the sole source of Mélange - necessary for interstellar travel and granting psychic powers and longevity, so whoever controls it wields great influence. The troubles begin when stewardship of Arrakis is transferred by the Emperor from the Harkonnen Noble House to House Atreid's. A fine copy bound in red cloth, spine lettering gilt, in a fine pictorial dust jacket without the fading, which is frequent in most copies, hence, a very bright copy.
