British born Albert Myers, usually credited as Al Myers, was a camera operator and camera crew member in Hollywood for over 50 years beginning in the late 1920s. He is credited in 30 films from 1927 to 1978, and assuredly worked on many more films uncredited during that time. His credits include "The Virginian" (1946), "Carmen Jones" (1954), "The Man with the Golden Arm" (1955), and "The Defiant Ones" (1958). Based on the 1948 novel by screenwriters Sy Bartlett and Beirne Lay Jr. During World War II, a new commander takes over an air force unit stationed in England and whips them into fighting shape. Veterans praised the film as an accurate portrayal of their bombing experiences during WWII-unsurprising, as many of the battles and characters in the film were based on real-life people and experiences. Winner of two Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actor for Dean Jagger, and nominated for two more.
