Executed on Somerset paper with watermark, the composition belongs to LeWitt's celebrated Black & Gray series…, in which subtle tonal variation, structure, and repetition replace expressive gesture. The image presents a vertically oriented black field built from layered, irregular brush-like forms, creating a dense yet controlled surface. *** The etching is hand-signed and numbered by the artist in pencil lower left. It is an exceptionally small edition of only ten, making it particularly rare and desirable. *** The etching was published by Crown Point Press in Oakland, California, one of the most important print publishers of the late twentieth century, and bears the publisher's blind stamp.
