Seller: Locus Solus Rare Books (ABAA, ILAB), Los Angeles, CA, U.S.A.
Condition: Very good. Five pieces comprising four broadsheets, approx. 11 X 17 in and one bifolium, approx, 11-1/2 X 17 in., in original mailing envelope. A nice group from this alternative press, mailed together in one package to supportive poet Russell Edson. Includes: Stuart Z. Perkoff, Poems from Prison; C.H. [Lyn] Hejinian, Selections from Winslow Poems; James Ryan Morris, Black Swan Cat, Tony Scibella, The Backshooter, and Windsong Harris, Phoenix Un-Risen: Published for the Fall Offensive to End the War in Vietnam. The first four were installments in the Bowery Broadsheet series (nos. 2-5). Hejinian's broadsheet preceded her first book by three years; the Windsong Harris item is in the form of a tabloid newspaper, printed on newsprint and thus extremely fragile. Bowery Press was the brainchild of latter-day Beat and denizen of the underground scene in Denver, Larry Lake.
