De luxe edition, copy no 56 of an edition of 200 copies, signed by the publisher as 'The Shepherd Press.' Original full black morocco, on hand made paper. Lettered gilt on spine and illustrated gilt (vignette of a tree) on front cover. Gilt dentelles on pastedowns. Top edge gilt. Sound clean handsome very good copy a little rubbed at spine ends and corners, some minor spots on cover. Good long intro by Norman Lindsay. The 8 Drypoints are not present in the ordinary edition.

Limited to 40 copies, of which 30 were offered for sale, containing a special colour reproduction which is an engraver?s proof, titled Man and Mountain, signed by the artist; the plates were engraved for this edition only, and were then destroyed. A rare deluxe edition produced in small numbers.
