Signed by the author, Carl Sandburg, on limitation page, this being number 418 of 525. Limitation reads: "The First Edition of Abraham Lincoln: The War Years is limited to 525 copies on all rag paper, numbered and signed by the author, of which 500 are for sale. This is number 418." (Howes S82) (Monaghan, 3711). An attractive example of this deluxe signed limited edition. The War Years were the best-selling volumes of Carl Sandburg's landmark series on President Abraham Lincoln.
