Published by Constable and Company Ltd in 1927, here is the first hardback printing of esteemed Scotch Poet Charles Murray's Hamewith and Other Poems: Hamewith, A Sough o' War, In the Country Places signed and dated with a touching inscription to a previous owner in black ink to the half title page by Charles Murray. The cloth covered boards have some light marking [lus there is some general browning throughout. Signed by Author(s).
Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Signed, inscribed and dated by Murray on the half title page. Fourth impression. The boards are rather shelf rubbed and edge worn, with the cloth fraying along the edges, particularly of the spine, and knocking to the corners. Despite this, the boards remain strong and sturdy. Internally, there is light, sporadic foxing throughout, but there are no other markings or inscriptions, and the pages within are neat and complete. The binding is sound. In good condition for its age. JK. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services. Signed.

Hardcover. First Edition, First Impression. 5.5 x 8.5in. 93pp. Publisher's cloth boards with gilt titling and decoration. Signed and inscribed by the author on the second front free endpaper: "To William Kelly with much gratitude from the Author, Charles Murray." Somewhat contradictory to the inscription, Murray's engraved bookplate is on the verso of the second front free endpaper. A poem by Murray, "Compensation," excised from The Outlook No. 22, 1902, has been tipped-in at the back endpaper and is additionally signed. VERY GOOD. Shows marginal shelf rubbing of the extremities, spine lightly toned, endpapers toned, slightly over-opened at the front endpaper, otherwise the binding is strong and tight, the text is clean and unmarked, and the boards remain bright and distinct. As pictured.
