Marble-paper Boards. Condition: General Cover Wear. No Jacket. First Edition. Covers worn, old label front cover. This arithmetic ledger book is hand-written in a neat cursive form. Eighty-four pages in length. There is no title-page as such. Begins with sections on simple addition, subtraction with exaqmples and rules. Later sections on weights and measures, decimals, and more. We found a date of May 1811 in one of the exercises and the town of New London. This cypher book was probably a teaching tool for a mathematics instructor or a copy book by an advanced student. We have found several similar cypher books from the period. A well-preserved example. See photos. Size: 13 1/4" x 8".
