With text chosen from…Aristophanes, Lord Byron, Delphic Oracle, Goethe, Homer, Pericles, Plato, Sophoclies, Wordsworth, Yeats, etal. Very good book in good only dust jacket. Light brown tweedy cloth covered boards with brown-stamped lettering on front panel and spine. Extremities are sunned and soiled from handling. End-papers have shadow transfers, faint foxing and are grubby in general. Text pages are age-toned, heavier on the margin, else internally clean. Text block is solid. Board panels are very minimally bowed. Dust jacket is soiled overall. Spine and folds are sunned. Losses along upper and lower edge of back jacket panel, head and tail of jacket spine, upper left corner on front panel and fore-edge corners. Numerous closed tears with adjacent creases along all edges. Not price clipped. In spite of these issues the jacket is primarily intact.
