This is a large paper copy, with the sheets unopened and in fine condition, with the Corrigenda slip. It is a presentation copy, inscribed on the half title: "With the authors best respect, to Henry Hallam Esq &c &c in the hope, that should his fine and classical taste incline him to be of opinion that the English Hexameter may ultimately become not unworthy of the language, he will extend the encouragement of his approbation and patronage to this imperfect attempt". Henry Hallam (1777-1859), the historian and author, was the father of Arthur Henry Hallam (1811-1833), Tennyson's "A.H.H." Bought from Mealy's, Dublin in 1993.
