Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - What happens when modern C++ stops being just a language-and becomes an engineering discipline Have you ever looked at advanced C++ code and wondered how elite developers build software that is not only fast, but scalable, precise, and engineered to perform under real-world pressure Have you wanted to go beyond syntax and truly understand how modern C++ is used to design systems that are dependable, efficient, and future-ready The C++26 Codex was written for developers who are ready to move past the basics and master the deeper architecture of modern C++.C++ has always been powerful. But with C++26, that power reaches a new level. The language continues to evolve with more expressive compile-time capabilities, stronger abstractions, and smarter ways to build software that performs at scale. The question is: how do you harness all of it with confidence This book answers that.Anthony M. Carson takes you deep into the advanced engineering side of C++26 with a practical and conversational approach that helps complex topics feel approachable without sacrificing depth. Instead of simply introducing features, this book explores why they matter, where they fit into real systems, and how experienced developers use them to build software that lasts. How do modern memory models affect the safety and performance of your code What changes when compile-time programming becomes a central design strategy instead of an occasional optimization How do you architect high-performance software that remains readable, maintainable, and efficient at scale Inside these pages, you'll explore the techniques and principles behind advanced systems programming using the newest capabilities of C++26. You'll gain a clearer understanding of modern memory behavior, concurrency-aware design, performance-driven development, compile-time architecture, and the patterns used to engineer robust software in demanding environments. This book is designed for developers who want more than surface-level explanations. It is for engineers who want clarity around advanced concepts, stronger architectural instincts, and a deeper command of modern C++ as both a language and a professional tool.Whether you work in systems development, performance-critical applications, infrastructure, embedded environments, or simply want to stay ahead of the evolution of C++, this book gives you a focused path toward mastery.Because mastering C++26 isn't only about writing code that compiles. It's about writing software that thinks ahead, performs under pressure, and reflects the standards of modern engineering. If you're ready to sharpen your expertise, deepen your understanding of advanced C++, and build with the full power of the newest standard-Start reading The C++26 Codex today and take your place at the leading edge of modern C++ engineering.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - The State of Memory Technology Over the past decade there has been rapid growth in the speed of micropro cessors. CPU speeds are approximately doubling every eighteen months, while main memory speed doubles about every ten years. The International Tech nology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS) study suggests that memory will remain on its current growth path. The ITRS short-and long-term targets indicate continued scaling improvements at about the current rate by 2016. This translates to bit densities increasing at two times every two years until the introduction of 8 gigabit dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chips, after which densities will increase four times every five years. A similar growth pattern is forecast for other high-density chip areas and high-performance logic (e.g., microprocessors and application specific inte grated circuits (ASICs)). In the future, molecular devices, 64 gigabit DRAMs and 28 GHz clock signals are targeted. Although densities continue to grow, we still do not see significant advances that will improve memory speed. These trends have created a problem that has been labeled the Memory Wall or Memory Gap.

Buch. Condition: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - The more rapid rate of increase in the speed of microprocessor technology than in memory speeds has created a serious 'memory gap' for computer designers and manufacturers. High Performance Memory Systems addresses this issue and examines all aspects of improving the memory system performance of general-purpose programs. Current research highlights from both industry and academia focus on: coherence, synchronization, and allocation; power-awareness, reliability, and reconfigurability; software-based memory tuning; architecture design issues; and workload considerations. Topics and features:Both hardware and software approaches to scalability and speed disparities are consideredIntroductory chapter provides broad examination of high performance memory systemsIncludes coverage of topics from several important international conferences.Edited by leading international authorities in the field, this new work provides a survey from researchers and practitioners on advances in technology, architecture, and algorithms that address scalability needs in multiprocessors and the expanding gap between CPU/network and memory speeds. It is ideally suited to researchers and R & D professionals with interests or practice in computer engineering, computer architecture, and processor architecture.
