The spiral-bound booklet is printed one-sided, with the fine print enlarged for easier reading. A sheet of clear vinyl has been added to protect the front cover. Among the many and diverse topics in the booklet are: Ditching the Black Swamp Tract; John Paulding, his Capture of Major Andre, and execution of the spy; the making of hoops and staves; beehive charcoal furnaces; a chat with an old settler; destruction of the old reservoirs by vandals; the timber business; and the thoughts on the approach of a new century (1900, that is). GENEALOGY BUFFS will find a list of 1888 county officers and businesses. The first part of the book is an index to The Northwestern Ohio History and Biographical portion of the 1882 Historical Hand Atlas of Northwestern Ohio and Paulding County.
