An engaging account of a marlin-fishing expedition out of Bimini and Cat Cay, privately printed for the author, and not offered for sale. Harkness records using bonefish for bait (pp. 9, 42-43), and seeing young tarpon, but being told by their guide that the tarpon would not rise to bait in that season (March). "An extremely rare Derrydale . a hard book to find." (Frazier). The author was a financier and philanthropist; his father co-founded the Wrigley and Harkness Company and was a major investor in the Standard Oil Company. William Hale Harkness graduated from Yale in 1922 and received a Harvard law degree in 1925. A member of numerous clubs and organizations, he was at one time vice president of the American Geographical Society and the Boys Club of New York. He was also author of Temples and Topees, published by The Derrydale Press in 1936 Presentation copy, inscribed by the author beneath the limitation statement, "To Ferg: Hoping when you go fishing it will be easier for you to catch a fish than it was for me to get ink out of this pen, Bill".
