Paperback. Condition: Good + overall. First printing. Four monthly issues of The Art Journal of 1875 featuring an illustrated article on the Hudson River from the City up to and including West Point. The wonderful woodblock engraved illustrations are by J.D. Woodward. January: The Hudson River, introduction, illustrated, pp5-8. NYC to The Palisades February: The Hudson River, part 1, pp41-44. The Palisades to Tarrytown March: The Hudson River part II, illustrated, pp73-76. Tarrytown to Peekskill incl. Nyack April: The Hudson River part III, pp109-112. Peekskill to West Point incl. Sugar Loaf in Garrison. Folio, 10 1/4 x 13 1/4", each issue approximately 30pp with ads, (pages numbered consecutively), publisher's blue paper wraps with blue text. Some wrappers loose, internally clean. Steel plates with some foxing. Text is clean and images are clear.
