Daniel Poling went to Europe during WWI as the official representative of the United Society of Christian Endeavor, as chairman of the United Committee on War Temperance Activities in the Army and Navy, as commissioner of the Federal Council of the Churches of Christ in America, and representing the National Temperance Council of America. He followed American soldiers through the trenches of northern France and this is his story. It contains 214 pages and is illustrated in b/w with drawings and photographs. The condition is very near fine with clean pages, tight binding and only very slight rubbing on the corners and a tiny spot on the red cloth front cover which is stamped in black with title, author, and a war scene.
