Hardcover. 8vo. Beige tan wrappers. 305pp. Very good. Mild wear to outer wrappers (only) -- tight and internally fine. Uncorrected proofs of this police procedural novel -- the "87th Precinct" series that began in 1956 and concluded in 2005. This particular title was turned into a 1996 made-for-t.v. movie -- and this copy bears two choice autograph additions: Tipped to the half-title page are fine, matching heavy stock 5" X 3" cards, each boldly signed by a cast member. At top is Joe "Detective Meyer Meyer" Pantoliano (born 1952), who signs hugely in blue ballpoint and dates it "Feb 20, 1988" at upper right; and below him Michael "Lt. Peter Byrnes" Gross (born 1947), who signs in black ballpoint and dates it "12/13/79" at upper right. Original Pantoliano and Gross signature transmittal envelopes are laid in -- the perfect bookmarks! A most unusual copy.
