Silver gelatin photograph of The Ikettes, a trio of backing vocalists for the Ike & Tina Turner Revue, who became successful artists in their own right. The Ikettes lineup changed frequently. The trio of Robbie Montgomery, Venetta Field, and Jessie Smith are the most renowned of The Ikettes' various configurations; they went on to form their own group, the Mirettes. Silver gelatin print. 8 x 10 in. Very good.

The successful American R&B, soul, blues, funk and rock music couple Ike & Tina Turner (1962-1978) performed with the Kings of Rhythm band (formed in the 1940s and led by Ike Turner) and the backing vocalists Ikettes girl group. Released in 1970 the political song Workin' Together was the lead single from their studio album with Tina Turner singing and Ike Turner on guitar. Good condition, creasing, staining, small tears.
